Valid California RN licensures is required.

This Psych Consult Service Social Worker will be responsible for:
Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties.
Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.

Job Summary

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
For Rural Health Network facilities only, employees who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree in the required field, leadership may consider an educational plan with proven continuous action toward achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within five years of hire into position.

Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care, and a working knowledge of administrative and management techniques.
Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinic care setting preferred. In-depth knowledge of specialty area preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required and must be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Assess, prepare and position patients for procedures. Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
Prepare, implement and document plan of care. Communicate patient’s condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
Perform set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.

Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team.
Assess the physical and psychological status of patients, provide interventions/treatments and evaluate effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provides age-specific and culturally appropriate education. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition “Compact State” obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
