Job Summary and QualificationsProvides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Imagine yourself as part of our dynamic team on A6 West Neurology, a 36-bed med-surg neuro tele unit specializing in providing exceptional care to patients with various neurological conditions. We focus on stroke care and manage diverse conditions including myasthenia gravis, encephalopathies, dementia, brain, and spinal tumors. What makes us unique is our exclusive Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), where patients undergo 24/7 monitoring for seizure activity. In the EMU, we conduct tests such as tilt table testing, strobe light testing, sleep deprivation, and medication adjustments to diagnose epilepsy and tailor treatment plans, making a tangible impact on our patients’ lives.

Job Summary and QualificationsProvides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.
What qualifications you will need:
- Preferred Experience: One year hospital nursing experience
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire date into RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, or extensions, may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out to the CNO Council members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptions should this information be needed. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.
- Required License/Certifications: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON

- Travel Rate: $1,875 – $2,492 full weekly rate (non-benefited)
- Local Rate: $1,500-$1,983 full weekly rate (non-benefited)
- Department: Associate Travel Program – ICU RN
- Schedule: Multipleshifts available, 36 hours per week
- Hospital: Multiple Ascension acute care hospitals
- Location: Local and national travel options are available dependent on need
This position is a permanent, full time position made up of 8-13 week travel assignments – not a short term option or temporary contract. Rates may vary by location and specialty.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care in area of specialty in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Must have compact RN license or state RN license relevant to travel assignment location prior to start of assignment.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Work Experience:
- One year of RN experience in an acute care setting required.
Additional Preferences
- One year of recent experience in Critical Care strongly preferred.
